Citi India Appoints Corporate Affairs Head
Citi has hired a new corporate affairs head for its India office.
Effective immediately, Jane Ong takes the role of head of corporate affairs for Citi South Asia, responsible for media relations, managing external and internal communications and the firm's Citizenship portfolio.
Ong most recently worked as head of communications for Royal Bank of Scotland India and head of communications and marketing for RBS Global Banking & Markets in India. Prior to that, she was head of Burson-Masteller's corporate and financial practice in Hong Kong.
At her new position, she reports directly to Pramit Jhaveri, chief executive for Citi India. Her appointment comes just weeks after Sameer Kaul was named head of the private banking unit for India.
Citi is one of the largest foreign direct investors in India with around $4 billion in capital invested. It has 42 branches across the country and employs 7,200 staff.
