Citi Elevates India Head To Lead ASEAN Consumer Banking

Citibank has strengthened its ASEAN consumer banking business with a key promotion.
Citibank has strengthened its ASEAN consumer banking business with a key promotion, according to a statement issued by the firm.
Effective 1 January 2014, Anand Selvakesari becomes head of consumer banking for the ASEAN region. ASEAN stands for Association of South East Asian Nations, which covers 10 member states such as Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
Selvakesari, who has been with the company since 1991, was promoted after serving as head of India's consumer banking arm since July 2011. He has also spent a number of years managing retail banking operation in Taiwan and another eight years in regional roles in Singapore.
His new role expands on his coverage of the India consumer and commercial banking businesses to include consumer banking functions in the ASEAN cluster. Also newly appointed is Kartik Kaushik as deputy head of its consumer banking business in India with effect from 1 January 2014. Kaushik will report to Selvakesari.
Citi's consumer banking arm includes branch banking, wealth management, foreign exchange, trade services, retail brokerage, credit cards and non-resident Indian products, among others.
