Citi Boosts Private Equity, Property Services For Investment Managers

Citi’s global transaction services team has boosted its private equity and real estate services for investment managers, expanding further into Europe, the Middle East and Africa and led by long-standing veteran of Citi, Kamran Anwar, as product head.
The Wall Street bank has also announced that a new client service team is to be established in Dublin to help solidify its private equity expansion into EMEA.
Anwar has been with Citi since 1993 as part of the Salomon Brothers' division in New York. Since then, he has worked in multiple regions including South Asia, the Middle East and Europe. He was the M&A advisory head, as well as strategy/planning director in Dubai and, subsequently, led Citi's M&A efforts for global transaction services.
"Although our private equity services business has been servicing important clients, both funds and investors, throughout EMEA for many years, Kamran’s appointment formalises our on-the-ground operating model in this important region, which offers considerable growth potential for our private equity services,” Sanjiv Sawhney, Citi's global head of fund services, said in a statement.
Citi has also established a new client service team in Dublin. The team joins existing funds businesses in Luxembourg and Jersey as part of Citi's overall private equity capabilities in the EMEA space.
Global transaction services, which is a division of Citi’s institutional clients group, offers integrated cash management, trade, and securities and fund services to multi-national corporations, financial institutions and public sector organisations.
