Charles Stanley Appoints BRI's CIO To Propel Birmingham Growth

The UK's Charles Stanley has named Mark Merten-Jones as branch manager of its growing Birmingham office.

London-listed wealth and investment manager Charles Stanley has hired Mark Merten-Jones to lead its Birmingham investment management office.

Merten-Jones, who joins from BRI Wealth Management, where he was chief investment officer, will assume the newly-created role as branch manager. He will be responsible for driving the business and reputation of the office, which has built its funds under management and administration from £110 million ($168.8 million) to £475 million over the past four years.

“Assets are rising and clients are becoming excited by the proposition that we offer, which is really gaining traction in Birmingham and the region. Over the next few years we will hopefully see continued growth of the office and Mark will be vital to its future strategic direction and approach,” the firm's director of financial planning at the Birmingham office, Richard Venner, said in a statement.

Charles Stanley's Birmingham office provides a combination of wealth management, comprised of financial planning and investment management, and intermediary-led discretionary fund management.
