CFO Named For Saxo's UK Operation

After record client onboarding, the bank has appointed a former HSBC transformation specialist to join the board and lead UK investor growth.
Danish online trading specialist Saxo Bank has appointed Simon O’Malley as chief financial officer for its Saxo Markets UK subsidiary and as a new board member. He will start in late July.
Based in London, O'Malley will report to UK CEO Charles White-Thomson, and be responsible for supporting UK business growth. The Copenhagen-based fintech, which provides multi-asset trading and investment for clients totalling around €45 billion (£39 billion), has operated in the UK since 2006.
He will be joining from HSBC Global Banking & Markets, most recently as programme director for business transformation. Before that, he was global risk COO for Barclays.
Saxo reported record onboarding actiivity last year, and says that his appointment will be key to broadening relevance, especially within the investor segment.
