Cayman Finance Hires CEO

Cayman Finance, the jurisdiction’s financial services representative body, has appointed Gonzalo Jalles as its chief executive, with immediate effect.
Formerly the CEO of HSBC Cayman, Jalles founded his own financial services consulting company - Javelin Group - and also served as president of the Cayman Islands Bankers’ Association from 2009 to 2012. He has nearly twenty years’ experience in the banking sector.
Prior to his role at HSBC in the Cayman Islands, which he held for almost six years, Jalles worked in HSBC’s London, Bermuda and Argentina offices as director of international development, managing director/CEO and chief investment officer, respectively. He has also worked at Santander Investments, developing the firm’s asset management capabilities.
