Capstone Partners, the US-private equity placement agent, has expanded its businesses in India and Singapore with two senior hires.

Alexandre Schmitz joins the company as head of the Asia operations, based on the newly-opened Singapore office. Schmitz spent the last 14 years at Copeba Group, an investment firm that became independent from BNP Paribas in 2004.

In India, Teena Jilka has been hired to head the fundraising and origination unit, working out of the Switzerland office. Jilka previously worked at the alternative investment arm of JP Morgan, marketing private equity and hedge fund products to high net worth clients in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Capstone Partners has a global team of around 25 professionals working out of offices in North America, Europe and Asia. It was established in 2001.
