Capital.com Enters Singapore Market; MAS Grants Licence

The business, headquartered in Limassol in Cyprus, has obtained a Capital Markets Services licence from the Asian city-state’s regulator. It has also named a CEO for its new Singaporean entity.
Cyprus-headquartered Capital.com, a financial
group which operates a tech-led trading platform, said yesterday
that it is entering the Singapore market, with its first client
onboarding scheduled for early 2027.
Its local entity, Capital Com Securities (Singapore) Pte, has
been granted a Capital Markets Services licence by the Monetary
Authority of Singapore. The licence covers dealing in capital
markets products, including securities and over-the-counter (OTC)
derivatives contracts.
Founded in 2016, the group is licensed in jurisdictions including
the UK, the EU, the Middle East, Africa and Australia, and
Singapore, which is its first base in Southeast
Asia.
The Singapore team is preparing the platform and local services
to meet applicable regulatory and operational requirements,
including identity verification through Singpass MyInfo, full
client verification before trading and mandatory two-factor
authentication at sign-in,” Capital.com said in a statement
yesterday.
“Singapore sets a high bar for how financial services are
delivered, and the MAS licensing process examines every part of a
firm’s governance, controls and capital,” Valentina Rzheutskaya,
executive director, Capital.com, said. “Holding a licence here
means operating to that standard locally, with supervision of how
we onboard clients, communicate risk and safeguard client assets.
This licence affirms how we approach new markets, in step with
local regulation and with a focus on sustainable, long-term
growth.”
