Capital Guardian Appoints Wealth Management President

Capital Guardian, the US wealth management firm, has named Scott Chaisson as president of wealth management, responsible for growing this business - including its captive advisor offices.

According to Chaisson, the firm is experiencing "tremendous growth" within its existing markets and thus plans to enter new ones in the near future.

Most recently, Chaisson was regional managing director at Rehmann Financial. The firm said he has over 19 years of wealth management experience with Smith Barney, Bank of America and Fidelity Investments.

Last week the firm brought in two new teams to its independent channel from Woodbury Services, after appointing industry veteran Luis Alegre - latterly a vice president at AllianceBernstein - as managing director of international investments in Downtown Miami.
