Canadian Wealth Manager Appoints Ex-Head of Barclays Wealth Portfolio Management

Canadian-based Manulife Financial Global Investment Management has appointed David Hussey as head of Pan-European Equities. Mr Hussey joins MFC Global from Barclays Wealth where he had been head of Portfolio Management, responsible for managing £6 billion in European, UK and global equities, and managed a team of portfolio managers and investment analysts. Mr Hussey will be based in MFC Global's London office, and will oversee the team managing equity investing in Europe. He will report to Steve Tyson, chief investment officer and his appointment is effective immediately. He previously worked for Coopers and Lybrand, Schroder Investment Management and J P Morgan Investment Management. Gregor Rapprich, who was with Bank of Butterfield, and William Hamlyn, most recently with Citigroup Asset Management, joined the MFC team earlier this year as portfolio manager and senior investment analyst, respectively. MFC operates as John Hancock in the US.
