Canada Life Makes Two Senior UK Wealth Management Appointments

Canada Life, part of Canadian life insurance company Great-West Lifeco, has appointed Anne Slater-Brooks and David Gregory to lead roles within its UK wealth management business.

Anne Slater-Brooks has been appointed head of the strategic accounts team, a role in which she will focus on supporting and promoting Canada Life’s offering for independent financial advisors; David Gregory will now head Canada Life’s institutional relationships team with responsibility for building and developing relationships with the UK wealth managers.

“The areas that they [Mr Gregory and Ms Slater-Brooks] and their teams will focus on are important growth areas for Canada Life and both Mr Gregory and Ms Slater-Brooks have proved influential in progressing our approach into these markets over the past years,” said Alain Wolffe, managing director of Canada Life’s wealth management business.

Ms Slater Brooks joined Canada Life in 2005 as an account manager for the north east, subsequently moving into strategic accounts in 2008. Prior to Canada Life, Ms Slater-Brooks worked as an account manager at UNUM and Royal & Sun Alliance.

Having been a senior broker consultant at Sun Life for nine years, Mr Gregory joined Canada Life in 2002, and has since been instrumental in the firm’s growth into the high net worth market.

Great-West Lifeco provides financial services in Canada, the US, the UK, Isle of Man, the Republic of Ireland and Germany. As at 30 June 2008 the company had £194.9 billion  ($278 billion) in assets under administration.
