Cambodian Investment Firm Appoints Corporate Finance Head

Cambodian Investment Management has brought in a wealth management specialist to lead its corporate finance unit.

Jack Slattery joins the firm as head of corporate finance, specialising in loans for expansion and facilitating initial public offerings on the Cambodia Stock Exchange. He moves from Salomon Brothers in New York, where he served for five years. Slattery is known for his securities expertise, having lived in Hong Kong in 1994 to set up the online trading firm Instinet.

In his new capacity, he will be working closely with Anthony Galliano, managing director of Cambodian Investment Management.

Cambodia is seen as a high-growth investment destination, what with the recent economic reforms that welcome more foreign investment into the country. In April, the government had forged a deal with the Japan International Co-operation Agency to formulate a new plan for economic diversity in Cambodia. The country has been relying mostly on garment manufacturing over the past decade and is now opening up to other forms of investment.
