California-based Private Ocean, the wealth management firm, has brought in Robert Anderson as a senior advisor, based initially in San Rafael, CA, but with plans to eventually settle into an office in the East Bay.

Anderson was formerly a partner with Burr, Pilger & Mayer and has over 30 years of experience as a client service partner, having served small- and middle-market businesses and high net worth individuals in the areas of tax planning, wealth management, accounting issues, succession planning, real estate investments and strategic planning.

Private Ocean was established in 2009 following the merger of Salient Wealth Management and Friedman & Associates. Founded by Richard Stone and Greg Friedman, the firm has over $740 million in assets under management and works with senior executives, business owners and other affluent individuals with a minimum of $2 million to invest.
