C-Suite Moves For Asia, Europe At Aberdeen Investments

A number of senior executive moves have been announced by the UK-headquartered firm, which operates in a number of regions including Asia and parts of mainland Europe.
Aberdeen
Investments has appointed former BNY senior figure Parker
Wertz as chief financial officer for its asset management
business. He reports to Xavier Meyer, CEO for investments and
Siobhan Boylan, group chief financial officer of Aberdeen
Plc.
Wertz has more than 20 years of experience across finance and
corporate strategy. At BNY, he held dual roles as head of
finance for BNY International and CFO for Newton Investment
Management. Earlier in his career, Wertz also served in senior
positions at Deutsche Bank and Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
In other moves, Aberdeen has named Steven Maguire as chief
operating and transformation officer for Asia-Pacific, joining
from Prudential plc. Most recently he served as global head of
technology for the technology product portfolio and
held senior leadership positions spanning group strategy and
business transformation. Based in Singapore, he reports to
Alain Courbebaisse, COO – Investments, and Ian Macdonald, CEO,
Asia-Pacific.
In Europe, David Hanzl has been appointed general manager/CEO,
Germany. Based in Frankfurt, Hanzl reports to Mandy Rawlinson,
head of UK and EMEA. He is relocating from Hong Kong, where
he previously served as head of wholesale, APAC at Aberdeen
Investments. Prior to joining Aberdeen in 2021, Hanzl was
regional operating officer for UBS Asset Management for
seven years.
A few days earlier, Aberdeen said it had appointed Vivian
Tang as head of the APAC client group.
The firm manages £48 billion ($64.4 billion) in assets (as at the
end of 2025) across emerging market and Asia strategies.
