Butterfield Expands London-Based Team

The Bank of Butterfield & Son, part of Bermuda- and Cayman-listed Butterfield Group, has appointed Patrick Norwood and Oriana Mezini to its London-based core strategy and research team.

Norwood joins the firm from Close Multi-Manager, where he was a director of research. At Butterfield he will act as senior investment research manager, responsible for research and selection in the multi-manager space.

Mezini, meanwhile, joins as an investment research manager, also in the multi-manager sector. Her prior career includes roles at Henderson and Aviva.

Both new appointees will report to David Stewart, Butterfield Group’s chief investment officer.

In other recent news about the group, last month it appointed James McPherson as senior vice president and head of group internal audit. He joined the firm from Noor Islamic Bank in Dubai.
