Bryan Cave Brings In New Partner To Support Its Tax Capabilities

The new recruit will help the London office of the law firm in providing a US perspective on tax and wealth advice.
Bryan
Cave has hired David Adler, previously of McDermott Will
& Emery, as a partner.
Adler is a US tax lawyer advising international entities,
individuals and intermediaries on planning with a US component.
He advises on issues arising under the US Foreign Account Tax
Compliance Act and the OECD Common Reporting Standard. He was
also a partner at McDermott Will & Emery.
Adler will work closely with Bryan Cave London partner Dyke
Arboneaux. His appointment comes as the firm faces
increasing requests for assistance from high net worth
clients on international tax regulations, which have become more
complex and far-reaching – particularly following the
implementation of FATCA,
it said.
“Indeed, ensuring we have the capacity to meet the growing demand
has been challenging, so we are delighted that we’ve been able to
attract a lawyer of David’s calibre to join our team,” said
Arboneaux.
FATCA was enacted by the US Congress in 2010 as part of the
Hiring Incentives to Restore Employment (HIRE) Act. It ensures
that the US Internal Revenue Service has information on the
foreign assets of US persons in a bid to combat tax evasion by US
citizens.
“Often, apparently simple decisions can create unforeseen issues
that, if not handled correctly, can prove difficult to resolve,”
added Arboneaux.

newly-created role, and will update in due course.
