UK wealth manager Brown Shipley, part of Quintet Private Bank (Europe), a group of boutique private banks and wealth managers operating across over 30 cities in Europe and the UK, makes senior hire.
Brown Shipley has appointed Katrina Johnson (pictured) as head of the North region.
Reporting to CEO Robert Kitchen, Johnson will be based in Manchester and oversee Brown Shipley’s Manchester, Leeds, Edinburgh and Birmingham offices – working with each office head and Simon Smith, head of South region. She will also be part of the Brown Shipley executive committee, the firm said in a statement.
Johnson previously served at Barclays Wealth Management, where she spent 17 years in senior private banking and operations roles. Most recently, she was regional director, North England, covering Manchester, Leeds and Newcastle.
At Brown Shipley, Johnson will focus on developing the bank’s strategy for the North, accelerating its business development activities.
“The North is a region of strategic importance to Brown Shipley, and we are delighted to welcome Katrina to the firm as we continue to drive growth and deliver a leading proposition to our clients,” Kitchen said. “Katrina brings a wealth of experience to the role. Her deep understanding of the Northern market, coupled with her proven ability to foster trusted client relationships, makes her ideally positioned to lead our next phase of regional growth.”
Brown Shipley, with a heritage dating back to 1810, is a wealth manager offering clients financial advice, with offices in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Cambridge, Leeds, Edinburgh, Norwich and Nottingham.
