Brown Shipley Hires Ex-UBS Man To Develop Intermediary Channels

UK private bank Brown Shipley has appointed Tim Meikle as intermediary development director – a hire which the firm said is part of its ongoing growth strategy and underscores its commitment to the intermediary sector.
Mr Meikle, who held a similar position at UBS, now works in Brown Shipley’s development team, which is headed by Ian Rogers. In his new role Mr Meikle will focus on developing distribution channels with intermediaries such as lawyers, accountants and IFAs in London and the southern region of the UK.
“We believe intermediaries are a very important part of our future growth strategy and Tim’s appointment is an unequivocal commitment to that sector across the UK both by our private banking business and our fund management arm,” said Ian Sackfield, managing director at Brown Shipley.
In other recent hires, in September Brown Shipley added Paul Embleton and Gail Craig as private client managers, along with Agnes Lagden as private client assistant to its Edinburgh office.
These appointments followed Brown Shipley’s acquisition of the investment management operation of Scottish law firm Lindsays – a move which bought a further 250 clients to the firm’s Edinburgh office.
