Brown Shipley Bolsters Fund Management Team

The UK private bank Brown Shipley has appointed Simon Nicholas as senior fund manager on two of its funds, in a bid to bolster its fund management team.

Nicholas will join the MultiManager International and MultiManager Growth funds, both previously under the Solus brand, which are currently being managed by chief investment officer Peter Botham.

The new role will also involve key responsibilities in the bank’s third party funds research team and investment policy committee, the firm said.

Nicholas was previously managing director of the private clients unit at Mercater Capital Management and has also worked at Aberdeen Asset Management and Cazenove Fund Management.

Brown Shipley, a subsidiary of KBL European Private Bankers, has client offices in London, Manchester, Leeds, Edinburgh and Birmingham, and provides wealth management services including investment and fund management, self-administered pension schemes, estate planning and banking services.
