The UK wealth manager and private bank has expanded its regional business development team.

Brown Shipley has appointed Gavin Wiggans as business development director in Manchester.

Wiggans joins after 19 years with Standard Life, where he was account manager, according to his LinkedIn profile. 

In the newly-created role, he will be responsible for further building Brown Shipley’s relationships with intermediaries, with a focus on accountants and solicitors. He will report to the head of the firm's Manchester office, Jon Sherlock.

“Gavin will play an instrumental role in helping us continue with our growth strategy. Furthermore, Gavin’s extensive experience of working with intermediaries, particularly in helping them develop their client propositions, will be invaluable,” said Sherlock.

Brown Shipley provides wealth management services for high net worth clients, comprising investment and fund management, self-administered pension schemes, estate planning and banking services. It recently boosted its UK-wide presence with a new office in Nottingham.
