Brooks Macdonald International Hires Duo For Jersey Development

Brooks Macdonald International, an offshore subsidiary of UK-listed wealth manager Brooks Macdonald, has appointed Richard Hughes as head of business development and Chris Donoghue as senior business development manager, as part of its new business development team in Jersey.

“The formation of a new business development team based offshore is a natural progression of BMI’s continuing growth and representative of our commitment to growing our business within the Channel Islands and internationally,” said John Davey, chief executive of BMI.

Hughes, with more than 12 years’ business development experience in the financial services industry, joins BMI from global financial services firm, Vistra, where he served as business development director for three years. Before that, he held a similar role at BNP Paribas.

Donoghue, with more than 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry, joins BMI from HSBC Private Bank, where he was head of the investment group for Jersey. Previously, at a number of various firms, Donoghue held roles covering stockbroking, portfolio management and managing a private banking investment team.

In other recent hires, earlier this month Brooks Macdonald International appointed Rod Sallis as an investment advisor in its Guernsey office.

Brooks Macdonald Group has offices in Jersey, Guernsey, London, Manchester, Hampshire, Tunbridge Wells, Edinburgh, Hale, Taunton and York, and had £4.97 billion (around $6.42 billion) of funds under management, as at 31 March 2013.
