BNY Mellon Names Global Client Management Head, European Chairman

The Bank of New York Mellon has appointed Timothy Keaney as head of global client management and chairman of Europe, in addition to his current role as co-chief executive of BNY Mellon Asset Servicing.
Mr Keaney, who is currently based in New York, will relocate to London to take up his new roles. As head of global client management, Mr Keaney will be responsible for franchise clients across all business lines and products worldwide; as chairman of Europe, he will lead the regional management team in executing the firm’s European strategy and growth plans.
Woody Kerr, executive vice-president, has been named European vice-chairman, reporting to Mr Keaney.
Mr Keaney, who shares responsibility with James Palermo, has served as co-CEO of BNY Mellon Asset Servicing since 2007. Prior to this he was The Bank of New York’s head of EMEA.

BNY Mellon operates in 34 countries, serving over 100 markets. As at 31 March 2009 the company has $19.5 trillion in assets under custody and administration, and $881 billion in assets under management.
