BNY Mellon Makes Senior Research, Investment Services Hire

BNY Mellon Investment Management has appointed Cynthia Steer as head of manager research and investment solutions.
Steer joins from Russell Investments, where she served as managing director for investment strategy and consulting. Prior to that, she was chief research strategist at Rogerscasey, an investment services firm, where she oversaw global investment management and capital markets research, emerging and frontier markets research and fixed income research.
In her new role she will be responsible for performance oversight, due diligence, and analysis of investment performance. She will also be the senior investment advisor to the executive management of the investment management business. She reports jointly to Curtis Arledge, chief executive, and Mitchell Harris, president.
Steer's hire is the latest in a series of appointments at BNY Mellon in the US, and follows hot on the heels of Ron Bruder's hire as managing director for wealth management, and Penny Weeks' appointment as regional director for private banking in New England in December.
