BNY Mellon Fills Newly-Created Asia-Pacific Investment Strategy Role

BNY Mellon has created a new investment strategy role for its Asia-Pacific business.

Effective immediately, Paul Schulte becomes head of investment strategy, Asia-Pacific, based in Hong Kong. Schulte, who will focus on developing the firm's Asia-Pacific investment and market knowledge platform, will report to Alan Harden, chief executive for the Asia-Pacific investment management unit, and Jack Malvey, chief global market strategist for investment management in New York.

Schulte was previously the global head of financial strategy at China Construction Bank International Securities, where he created the Greater China research platform. Prior to that, he was managing director and head of multi-strategy and Asian banks research for Lehman Brothers, and then for Nomura International.

BNY Mellon Investment Management has some $1.3 trillion in assets under management. Its offices in Asia are in Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singaore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand.
