BNP Paribas Subsidiary Hires ETF Expert

The BNP Paribas Investment Partners subsidiary specialising in capital-protected, indexed and model-driven management has made a senior appointment in Paris.

THEAM, part of BNP Paribas Investment Partners, has appointed Isabelle Bourcier as head of exchange-traded fund and indexed fund activities.

Between 2011 and November last year, Bourcier was head of business development at Ossiam, a subsidiary of Natixis Global Asset Management specialising in smart beta ETFs. Previously, she was global head of ETF activities at Lyxor Asset Management, a subsidiary of Société Générale.

In the new Paris-based role, she will be responsible for driving the development of THEAM's indexed and ETF investment offering, coordinating their implementation in key markets, including in France and more widely across Europe. She will lead the 20-strong indexed management team, while supervising a new team, currently being recruited, which will focus on selling the products.

Bourcier will join the firm's executive committee and report to Denis Panel, chief executive of THEAM.

“She is a well-known name in indexed management and her appointment will give new momentum to the distribution of our indexed fund and ETF ranges and strengthen their sales in Europe,” Panel said.

As of the end of March, BNP Paribas Investment Partners, BNP Paribas Group’s asset management specialist, managed assets of €521 billion ($581 billion). Of this, THEAM looked after €38 billion.
