BNP Paribas Securities Services Names India Head

BNP Paribas Securities Services has taken on Viraj Kulkarni as head of securities services in India to drive business activities in this “booming” market.
The business activities for which Kulkarni will assume responsibility include custody and clearing, transfer agency, and domestic fund services for buy- and sell-side institutions, the firm said in a statement.
In his new role, Kulkarni will report to Lawrence Au, head of BNP Securities Services Asia-Pacific, and Jacques Michel, chief executive and India country manager.
Overall, Kulkarni has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, including having held leadership, senior business development and operational positions at Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan Chase.
Additionally, he was head of Citibank Securities Services in India and Switzerland, and was most recently a managing partner at Pivot, a securities-focused management consultancy which he founded in 2009.
