BMO GAM Eyes Growth In Italy With New Recruit

Bank of Montreal's asset management business has further expanded its European sales team.

BMO Global Asset Management has hired Alfredo Uras as a sales executive in Milan, Italy.

Uras joins after more than a decade with Pioneer Investments, where he started as a senior portfolio analyst, covering sales in the wholesale and retail distribution channels in Italy and Greece.

In the new role, he will provide support on the distribution of BMO GAM’s investment capabilities across institutional and wholesale channels in Italy. He will report to Giampaolo Giannelli, the firm's head of sales in Italy.

“His appointment will enable us to further expand our presence in Italy. Alfredo is an extremely versatile professional with significant experience and skills, which we know will be beneficial to our clients,” said Giannelli.

The hire continues BMO GAM's growth efforts across Europe. Over the past year, the firm has opened offices in Italy, Spain, Sweden and France.

In June, Richard Wilson took over from Rajiv Silgardo as BMO GAM's new chief executive and chief investment officer.
