BMI In Jersey Names New Senior Business Development Manager

Brooks Macdonald International has appointed a new senior business development manager.
Brooks Macdonald International, which is part of the UK-listed
Brooks
Macdonald Group, has appointed a new senior business
development manager to oversee management, advisory and foreign
exchange services in its Jersey branch.
Lindsay Bateman, who has 35 years’ experience in the financial
services industry will join BMI where he will be responsible for
targeting new business opportunities across the international
professional adviser markets.
This move comes after BMI appointed former Canaccord manager
Jeremy Stubbs earlier this year to lead its investment advisory
and dealing teams.
Formerly an executive director for business development at
Ermitage Group, he was responsible for developing new contacts
with institutional and retail clients within the Channel Islands,
UK and internationally, and is a member of the Chartered
Institute for Securities and Investment.
Bateman said BMI is well suited to the needs of international
investors looking for offshore exposure to a full range of global
assets, which complements his previous experience as managing
director of private client services at Standard Bank Offshore
Group.
“As Southern Africa develops economically, international
professional advisors are increasingly able to access offshore
investments and are moving away from holding their clients’
assets in banks and lower-earning investments, in order to
benefit from greater security and returns from their assets,”
said Bateman.
BMI is a subsidiary of Brooks Macdonald Group, which had £5.68
billion ($9.45 billion) in funds under management as at 31
December 2013.
