BlackRock Unveils Multi-Asset Fund For Asian HNWIs

BlackRock, the US asset management firm, has launched a new fund geared toward retail and high net worth investors in Asia.

The BlackRock Global Multi-Asset Income Fund can invest across a range of asset classes, including traditional equities and fixed income, as well as alternative assets like commodities, infrastructure and property. By focusing on diversifying investments, BlackRock hopes that the fund will give investors a more "consistent and risk-managed income experience" in various types of markets.

The fund is co-managed by Philip Brides, Adam Ryan, Andrew Warwick and Michael Fredericks, all of whom are part of the company's multi-asset strategies team.

"With today's low yields, investors need to cast a wider net and look to build an income stream for their retirement. A global multi-asset income fund is suited for investors looking to diversify their income sources away from single asset classes," said Lin Yun Chang, head of BlackRock retail business for Asia ex-Japan, in a statement.

The fund was officially unveiled in 28 February in Hong Kong and holds around 200 securities, ranging from equities, to bonds, to commodities, to alternatives and cash.
