Bermuda-Based Bank Boosts Private Banking Team

Bermuda-based Capital G Bank has bolstered its private banking team with the appointment of Greg Soares as a senior private banker and Nancy Stevens as a private banker, Bermuda Sun reports.

Mr Soares’ expertise lies in private and corporate trust administration and he has held a number of client relationship positions at Butterfield Bank and HSBC in Bermuda, London and Hong Kong, the news service said. Ms Stevens, meanwhile, was formerly an associate private banker at HSBC Private Bank, working with private clients, trusts and small institutions.

"Both Greg and Nancy are Bermudian, further demonstrating the group's commitment to having knowledgeable and globally experienced wealth advisors who are locally based and who will be around for the long term. This is very important to our clients," Barbara Tannock, Capital G Bank’s head of private banking, is reported to have said.

Last week Capital G Investments announced its merger with fellow Bermuda-based firm Kast Investment Management, in a deal which brings the combined entity’s total assets under management to over $650 million.

Kast Investment Management brought with it some $250 million in AuM and 250 clients, taking the combined business’ client base to over 400.

Anne Kast, who founded Kast Investment Management in 1991, has committed to working with Capital G for at least three years to ensure a smooth transition; Kast Investment Management will relocate to Capital G’s offices later in the year.
