BBVA Compass has appointed Mark Smith wealth management market executive for Birmingham and Montgomery, Alabama. Smith will oversee private banking services and manage a team that caters to high-net-worth individuals, families and corporations.

Smith joined BBVA Compass in 2006 as a private banker and has 19 year’s experience in the financial services industry.

In addition, veteran banker Gary Bishop will relocate to Birmingham and resume his role as senior relationship manager for wealth management. Bishop began his career with BBVA Compass as a branch loan officer more than 25 years ago and most recently served as wealth management market executive in Fort Worth, Texas.
