Barclays Wealth Targets Professional Clients With New Hire

Barclays Wealth has added private banker Rachel McCarthy - who is a specialist in professional services sector clients - to its London and South East team.

McCarthy is the ninth banker to join Barclays Wealth’s London and South East team and she has been recruited to develop the firm’s presence in the legal sector, helping to build a portfolio of partners from the major law firms.

McCarthy joins Barclays Wealth from Coutts & Co, where she had also worked with professional clients. In her new role she will report to Nicholas Hender, director and team leader of professional services in the London and South East team.

In other recent developments, last week Barclays Wealth appointed a director, managing director and a vice president to strengthen its strategic solutions group.

Amaury Hendrickx joined as a director from Merrill Lynch Global Private Equity, where he was director of global private equity; Jad Fadl joined as vice president of SSG, after seven years in corporate banking at Citi; and Miray Katerji joined as managing director of SSG (Middle East North Africa) from HSBC Global Banking & Markets, where she specialised in wealth management and investment banking.
