Barclays Wealth Taps UBS for Head of Investment Structuring

Barclays Wealth, has appointed Olav Noack as managing director, head of Investment Structuring. Mr Noack joins from UBS Global Wealth Management where he headed up its Wealthplanning Life Insurance operation for businesses and companies across Switzerland, EU, USA, Latin America and Asia. In his new role Mr Noack will lead the Investment Structuring team responsible for Barclays Wealth’s Collective Investments (including Multi-Manager and other pooled funds), the Wealth BGI Joint Venture, the Retirement & Protection team and Barclays Life businesses. Kevin Lecocq, Chief Investment Officer of Barclays Wealth, commented: “Attracting someone of Olav’s experience and track record demonstrates our commitment to building “the best team on the field”. Mr Noack joined UBS Wealth Management in 2002 where he was responsible for building the global life insurance offering. During his time at UBS he also worked as Head of Life Insurance across all of the insurance-related units in its Wealth Management and Business Banking divisions. Mr Noack became Head of Wealthplanning Life in 2003 and a member of the global Wealthplanning Management Committee. He also held various Board positions while at UBS. Prior to working at UBS, Mr Noack had spent seven years at McKinsey & Company (Zurich and Chicago) consulting to global insurers, banks and other financial service companies.
