Barclays Wealth Management has appointed Richard Thomas as global head of compliance. Mr Thomas was previously head of international compliance for the private wealth management business at Goldman Sachs in London. Mr Thomas had also served in senior roles at Hambros Bank, now SG Hambros, and Continental Bank. The appointment is the fourth major recruitment announcement for the newly formed wealth management unit for Barclays since the start of the year. The bank has also appointed a global head of marketing, IT chief and chief operating officer.
