Barclays Wealth Hires Regional Manager From UBS

Barclays Wealth has appointed Linda Willis Eydt - formerly of UBS - as a director and regional manager of its Atlanta office.

Ms Eydt was most recently executive director and branch office manager for UBS in Atlanta – a role in which she oversaw over 130 advisors and other staff. Before joining the Swiss bank she was a senior managing director at Bear Stearns, serving in a number of senior roles which included holding responsibility for branch managers and oversight of branch supervision globally for private client services

In her new role Ms Eydt will be responsible for managing all aspects of Barclays Wealth's Atlanta branch, along with growing the firm’s regional business. She will report to Jack Petersen, managing director and head of wealth management for the Americas.

"With her long industry experience and deep understanding of the Southeast business, Linda is a strong addition to our regional management team as we continue to grow. On a broader level, Barclays Wealth is committed to expanding its presence in the Americas, as evidenced by our hiring of more than 50 investment representatives in 2009, and our plans to add more than 100 this year," Mr Petersen said in a statement.

In other recent US appointments, last week Barclays Wealth announced the hire of Anthony Valvo as head of credit structuring, Americas, as part of wider moves to build its banking platform across the region.

Mr Valvo joins Barclays Wealth from Citigroup’s global wealth management division, where he was most recently a senior credit officer, managing structured lending for the high net worth business in the mid-Atlantic, and for the business finance segment nationally.

In his new role Mr Valvo is responsible for originating, structuring and managing credit transactions for high and ultra high net worth individuals, along with further developing Barclays Wealth’s structured lending capabilities in the region.

Mr Valvo reports locally to Paul Morton, managing director, head of business strategy and platforms for Barclays Wealth in the Americas, and globally to Torben Nielsen, managing director, head of global banking and credit solutions for Barclays Wealth.
