Barclays Wealth Hires Ex-UBS Man As Front Office Head In Monaco

Barclays Wealth said it has appointed former UBS senior manager Gérald Mathieu as head of front office for Monaco, Barclays Wealth International Private Bank.
Mathieu joins as a director, responsible for overseeing day-to-day IPB operation in the jurisdiction, including the management of private bankers. He reports to Francesco Grosoli, CEO of Barclays Wealth Monaco.
The UK-based firm later told WealthBriefing that the head of front office role was a newly created one.
In his previous role, Mathieu spent five years with UBS Wealth Management France, where he worked as branch manager and managing director in Paris; he was responsible for both project management with senior management in Paris and Zurich.
Prior to this, Mathieu spent seven years at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management France as director general and sales manager for Northern Europe and previously spent seven years with BNP France as client and branch manager.
