Barclays Wealth Expands Intermediaries Team In Guernsey

Barclays Wealth has bolstered its intermediary and institutional wealth solutions team in Guernsey with one new hire and three internal appointments.

Angus Findlay has come across from Santander’s corporate banking division in London. He has been appointed as a relationship manager with particular focus on trust companies located in the UK Crown Dependency.

Alex Clark Hutchison, meanwhile, has been named relationship director after five years as head of investment operations for Barclays Wealth in Jersey. Before that, he worked for Citigroup, starting in derivative middle-office and financial institutions sales, covering various European territories as well as the Channel Islands.

Former account executive Rachel Gosling has been appointed to support the relationship managers. She joined Barclays Wealth in 1997 as a school-leaver.

Stephen Gibson has been an account executive in the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man since 2010. He will have the same title but his responsibility will extend to working alongside the relationship managers to ensure that client expectations and regulations are met, the firm said.

Last week Barclays Wealth unveiled several major changes within its top-level management structure in the Americas and other regions. Mitch Cox, who had combined leadership of Barclays Wealth Americas with heading global research and investments, will now concentrate solely on building the US business. Leadership of the GR&I function will be split between Tom Lee, head of global banking and investment solutions for Barclays Wealth Americas, and Rob Brown, who will continue as head of GBIS for the UK, EMEA and Asia. They have been appointed as co-heads of global research and join Barclays Wealth’s management committee.
