Barclays Wealth Continues Hiring Drive Across The US, More To Follow

Barclays Wealth has hired six investment representatives at offices across the US and more appointments are set to follow by the year-end, the firm, part of UK-listed banking group Barclays, said today.
The hires are for Barclays Wealth’s offices in Boston, New York, Dallas and Miami.
“With a robust hiring pipeline, we look forward to welcoming several more professionals to the firm by year-end,” said Mitch Cox, head of Barclays Wealth Americas, and head of research and investments globally for the firm.
The hires are Glen Darby and Matthew Grady in Boston; Jerrid Douglas and Andrew Leventhal in New York; Michele Huff Powell in Dallas, and Narciso Muñoz in Miami.
Darby previously worked at Merrill Lynch’s Private Banking and Investment Group, bringing over 28 years of experience to the firm. Darby joined Merrill Lynch in 1983, where he specialized in serving ultra high net worth individuals including corporate executives, venture capitalists and hedge fund managers.
Grady previously worked at Old North Advisors, where in his role as CEO he led the spin-off of the discretionary asset management business from Federal Street Advisors. Grady has 16 years experience in delivering investment and planning advice to high net worth families, endowments and foundations.
Darby and Grady report to Marty Courage, regional nanager for Boston.
Douglas joins as a director and investment representative from Citi Private Bank. Douglas has 15 years of wealth management experience. Prior to joining Citi Private Bank in 2006, he worked at Bank of America and Colombia Management Group.
Leventhal has also joined Barclays Wealth as a director and investment representative from Credit Suisse Private Banking, which he joined in 2001.
Douglas and Leventhal report to Mark Stevenson, regional manager for New York.
Powell joins from US Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management, with 25 years of experience advising high net worth individuals and families. At her predecessor firm, which Ms Powell joined in 1986, she was responsible for the integrated delivery of wealth management services to clients, in particular, wealth structuring, investment management and private banking services.
Powell reports to Steve Head, regional manager for Texas.
Muñoz, who joined Barclays Wealth earlier this month, previously worked at HSBC’s International Private Bank, bringing over 17 years of wealth management experience serving ultra high net worth Latin American families and individuals.
Muñoz reports to Richard Hutchison, director at Barclays Wealth.
