Barclays Wealth Brings In Five Veteran Advisors To New York Office

Barclays Wealth has appointed five investment representatives to its New York office, bringing its total hires in the Americas to 50 this year.

Jack Broderick and Bill Belleville, who both join from Credit Suisse Private Banking, are now managing directors at the UK-headquartered bank’s wealth arm. Broderick worked at Credit Suisse for 15 years, most recently as a relationship manager in private banking.

Also joining Barclays are Michael Gordon, Scott Madison and Jonathan Sopher, all as directors.

Gordon and Madison both latterly worked at Credit Suisse, specializing in high net worth individual, family office and private foundation clients. Prior to joining the Swiss bank, Gordon worked for six years in the private client group of Jefferies & Co while Madison worked in the markets coverage group of Goldman Sachs Private Bank. Sopher’s background includes roles at Jefferies & Co, Wachovia Securities and Prudential Securities.

All five new appointees report directly to Mark Stevenson, the regional manager for New York.

"The addition of these talented advisors emphasizes our commitment to grow the Americas business strategically, by attracting experienced, high performing teams to serve our high net worth clientele," said Mitch Cox, head of Barclays Wealth Americas and global head of research and investments.

"With a robust hiring pipeline for 2012, we look forward to welcoming several more professionals to the firm," he added.
