Barclays Wealth Appoints New Head Of Clients, Markets At Advisory Unit

Barclays Wealth said it has appointed Rick Denton as head of clients and markets for its Barclays Wealth Advisory unit, replacing Rodney Allen, who left the post to pursue an academic career.

Denton previously worked at Meespierson/Fortis-Intertrust where he was group commercial director before the nationalisation of the bank and sale of its trust business, Barclays Wealth said in a statement.

Among his other roles, Denton was executive vice-president at Bank of Bermuda, where he was responsible for its European private client businesses.  He also worked at Coutts, where he held a number of senior onshore and offshore roles.

In his new post Denton will be based in Guernsey, reporting directly to Rob Withecombe, head of Barclays Wealth Advisory.
