Barclays Wealth Managers España, the Spanish asset management arm of Barclays Wealth has appointed a new head of sales, the firm said yesterday.

From Madrid, Pablo Martinez will liaise with other parts of the bank’s Hispanic operation. Mr Martinez will also manage the distribution of funds, including products from Dublin and Luxembourg. It is not yet known whether Mr Martinez will be managing a team as part of his reposibilities.

Prior to this appointment, Mr Martinez worked for Fortis Investments. He will report to Carlos Perez Parada, head of investment & product office, Barclays Wealth Iberia. The Madrid office is one of 13 offices opperated by the Barlcays Wealth Managers España. As at 30 June 2009, BWM España managed €4.3 billion ($6 billion) assets under management.
