Barclays Wealth and Investment Management has unveiled a new mobile banking app for UK high net worth private banking clients to manage their personal bank accounts.
Barclays Wealth and
Investment Management has unveiled a new mobile banking app
designed to help UK high net worth private banking clients manage
their personal bank accounts.
Barclays Mobile Banking is a smart phone application that has
already been rolled out to retail and business banking customers
and will now be available to UK high net worth private banking
clients with a UK sort code and UK mobile number, Barclays said
in a statement.
The new application will enable clients to check their personal
bank accounts on-the-go, plus other Barclays' services, such as
overdrafts and existing mortgages. They will also be able to
transfer money and pay bills report lost or stolen debit
cards.
It can be downloaded to the iPhone, Blackberry, Android or
Windows Smart-phone or iPad.
“We recognise that customer behaviour is changing rapidly with
more and more clients embracing mobile applications. In
fact, almost half of all consumer lending in Barclays last month
was transacted by customers using mobile applications, with over
2.4 million customers regularly choosing this approach,” said
Anne Grim, Global Head of Client Experience at Barclays Wealth
and Investment Management.
The launch follows the news that Barclays’ voice biometrics
system, currently available to high net worth clients, will be
extended to corporate and retail customers by early 2015.
Barclays said it will continue to develop BMB and will be
delivering enhancements throughout the year, including its
availability to international banking clients.
