Barclays In Singapore Names NRI Head For Private Bank

The newly-appointed figure will lead the continuing expansion of its NRI franchise in the APAC region.
Barclays has
appointed former Bank of
Singapore senior manager Nikhil Jha (main picture) as head of
Non-Resident Indian business in the private bank, Singapore, this
publication has learned.
Jha reports to Alex Harrison, the country CEO in Singapore and
head of the Singapore private bank for the UK-listed lender,
according to an internal memo that WealthBriefingAsia
has seen.
Jha will also join the PB Singapore management
committee.
“Nikhil will lead the continued buildout of our NRI franchise as
we continue to grow our Private Bank in Asia-Pacific,” the memo
said. “The NRI client segment is inherently cross border,
spanning key wealth corridors and requiring strong connectivity
across our global platform. Singapore plays an important role as
a hub to support offshore client needs and deepen relationships
with globally mobile Indian clients across regions including the
UK and the Middle East.”
Jha, who brings more than 20 years of private banking experience,
is joining from Bank of Singapore, where he was a team head
managing international client portfolios. Previously, he served
in senior roles at Deutsche Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank.
