Two former private bankers from Barclays Wealth have joined Societe Generale Private Banking Hambros, the UK wealth management arm of Societe Generale Private Banking

Two former private bankers from Barclays Wealth have joined Societe Generale Private Banking Hambros, the UK wealth management arm of Societe Generale Private Banking.

Societe Generale said in a statement that Daniel Way and Jeremy Hill will join the Newbury office as senior private bankers. Both were previously at Barclays Wealth, where they worked as private bankers and were jointly responsible for setting up its Reading office.

Douglas Barton also joins SGPB Hambros’ Edinburgh office from PricewaterhouseCoopers as a senior private banker. He has previously worked for HSBC and RBS, as well as running his own consultancy.

As reported earlier this week, former chief investment officer (Europe) at Barclays Wealth and Investment Management, Kevin Gardner, is taking up a senior strategist role at Rothschild’s wealth management & trust arm.

Gardiner begins his role on 18 August, and reports to Veit de Maddalena and Richard Martin, global co-heads of Rothschild’s Wealth Management & Trust business and Mark Kary, head of Rothschild’s Wealth Management business in the UK. He will hold the title of global investment strategist.
