Barclays Adds To UK, Ireland Wealth Management Advisory Committee

The wealth and investment management arm of Barclays has added Dame Judith Mayhew Jonas to the advisory committee for its wealth management business in the UK and Ireland.
Dame Judith, who by profession is a lawyer, has served as a board and non-executive committee member at firms including The New West End Company, London & Partners and Merrill Lynch in New York. She is also known for having been political leader of the City of London Corporation.
The eight-strong committee, chaired by Sir Nigel Rudd, also boasts as members the likes of Ffion Hague, wife of foreign secretary William Hague, and Sir Michael Peat, formerly principal private secretary to the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall. Committee members act as ambassadors for Barclays, raising awareness of its wealth management activities through their own networks and supporting the firm’s existing relationships with clients. Sir Michael was added to the committee back in October of last year.
The start of this week marked the hard launch of Barclays’ move to a single brand for the majority of its divisions, including its wealth management arm.
This week the firm also unveiled a new discretionary portfolio management service for intermediaries, available first via the wrap platform Ascentric, with other partnerships to be announced in due course.
