Bankers At Citi Private Bank To Join Standard Chartered

Rina Bijur and Prashant Ajitsaria are to leave the UK banking team of Citi Private Bank, the bank has confirmed to WealthBriefing. Both bankers, who work with non-resident Indian clients, are joining Standard Chartered Private Bank, according to a source familiar with the matter.

Standard Chartered has declined to comment.

Mr Ajitsaria will be leaving Citi at the start of March and Ms Bijur at the start of May. although the firm was unable to confirm the exact dates at which both individuals will leave.

"We remain committed to the NRI market and will continue to serve our strong client base through our UK team, headed by Peter Charrington," a spokesperson from Citi Private Bank said.

The pair joined Citi Private Bank's UK banking team in 2006 and reported to Mr Charrington. Both moved across from Barclays where they were senior managers in the non-resident Indian clients team.

The NRI sector is seen as a large, potentially lucrative client segment of the wealth management market, fuelled by factors such as the growth of the Indian economy in recent years.
