AXA Framlington Completes Emerging Markets Team

AXA Framlington, the equity fund manager which is part of AXA Investment Managers, has completed the expansion of its emerging markets team with the hire of analyst Kaio Motawara from Charlemagne Capital, Citywire reports.

Motawara joins former Carlemagne colleague Gary Chan, who joined in May to cover Asia, India, Taiwan, Korea, technology and telecomms, according to the publication.

Paul Birchenough and Amanda O’Toole, both former analysts at Nevsky Capital, joined the emerging markets team in June. The former covers South Africa, Latin America and the Asian materials sector, while the latter covers Asian utilities and energy firm. The two original members of the emerging markets team are Irina Topa-Serry and Thompson, who came over from Threadneedle at the end of last year.

AXA Framlington now considers the team to be complete and as such there will be no further additions to it.

In other recent developments at the firm, last month AXA Framlington strengthened its healthcare team with the addition of analyst Linden Thomson from Clear River Capital.

AXA Framlington had not responded to enquiries from WealthBriefing on the matter at the time of publication.
