Aviva Investors, the global asset management business of the UK listed insurer, has promoted David Lis to chief investment officer for equities and multi-assets.

Lis is currently head of equities at Aviva Investors and is one of many changes made by the newly appointed chief executive Euan Munro as he looks to shake up the business. Lis is reporting directly to Munro and he also joins the Aviva Investors Executive Committee with immediate effect.

Overseeing £68 billion ($112 billion) in assets, Lis will be responsible for developing and implementing Aviva Investors’ equities and multi-asset investment strategies.

Lis has been with Aviva Investors since 1997 and during that time he has held a number of senior fund management positions.

“We have a wealth of talented investment professionals at Aviva Investors so I am very pleased to appoint David to this important new role.  With a strong track record and a wealth of fund management experience, David’s expertise will be invaluable as we continue to extend our investment capabilities internationally and deliver outcome-oriented solutions,” said Munro.

Aviva Investors operates in 15 countries in Asia Pacific, Europe, North America and the United Kingdom with assets under management of £234 billion.
