Austrian Private Bank Names Former UBS Man As Head

Italy’s UniCredit has recruited Franz Witt-Doerring from UBS to head its Austrian private banking unit, Schoellerbank, as of June next year, Bloomberg reports.

Witt-Doerring, latterly head of UBS’ Austrian business, counts Erste Group Bank and Merrill Lynch among his former employers. Schoellerbank’s previous chief, Robert Zadrazil, was appointed to head private banking at Bank Austria in October, the publication said.

Founded in 1833, Schoellerbank was founded in 1833 and has a client base of some 26,000 private and institutional investors.

The bank had not responded to enquiries from WealthBriefing on the matter at the time of publication.
