Australian Boutique Manager Strengthens Investment Team

Hyperion Asset Management, the Australian boutique fund manager, has expanded its investment team with a new dealer and analyst.

Will Hartnell moves from PricewaterhouseCoopers where he worked for five years within the mergers and acquisitions unit. In his new role, he will be responsible for the execution of the company's equity trading and research capabilities.

His hire brings the Brisbane team's headcount to five. More hires will be announced soon, the firm said.

Hyperion Asset Management has been actively growing its local operations over past months. In April, the firm spun off its private equity unit into an independent body and placed Tim Samway, founding shareholder and previously the institutional business director, at the helm as managing director.

Hyperion's clients range from institutional investors to high net worth individuals.
